The 10% damage increase does not apply to white damage. But it is still a very valuable talent for mutilate users. You can keep this up almost 100% of the times with mutilate. (****)

With two daggers of equal speed and DPS, poisoned mutilate does about 5-15% more damage per energy than backstab even after factoring in the 30% crit extra chance (the slower the daggers, better your gear, more damage mutilate does), gives you combo point faster than seal fate hemo, and applies poison from both hand at same time. This truly is the ultimate dagger ability. Unless you plan to be a prep rogue, there is simply no reason to use backstab in PVP. This allows you to save up to 8 talent points and skip the combat tree completely if your focus is group PVP. Remember you only need either main hand or offhand crit to trigger seal fate, and a double crit mutilate will out damage crit ambush with high end gear about wow gold.

A must have for a 1v1 rogue, but its use greatly diminishes in group PVP. It allows you to get an extra tick of energy over the regular gouge, and makes gouge restealth easier. Neither really applies in arena PVP.

With shiv, dagger rogues no longer need this ability. Hemo rogues do not need it either. A must have only if you plan to play heavy combat. Dodge is a really, really weak attribute. And this is a really, really weak talent about World of Warcrfat Gold.

If you want to play prep dagger, this is a must have. Otherwise mutilate is stronger in every way for PVP dagger rogues. Not much better than dodge, however you do need it for riposte so you pretty much have to take it.
