PopCap Games' VP of video game platforms Greg Canessa has left the company, accepting a position with World of Warcraft developer Blizzard Entertainment.wow gold Though what Canessa will be working on has yet to be revealed, an unnamed source told Joystiq that it is an "unannounced project in the online space."
One of Canessa's main responsibilities at PopCap was bringing the company's casual properties to platforms outside of the PC world, including Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, as well as portable platforms like the Nintendo DS and iPhone.wow gold Prior to that role, Canessa was the general manager for XBLA.
As for PopCap, the developer says that Canessa's departure won't affect its expansion plans.
"We are sorry to see him go and we wish him the very best," PopCap's Garth Chouteau told Joystiq. "It's been a pleasure working with him and his move is largely predicated on it being a big personal and professional opportunity for him. This isn't going to have any material impact on our console presence and our strategy with respect to the consoles and the DS and the areas that Greg was heading up. We're still very committed to those."
