From penicillin to George Carlin to The American Civil Rights Movement, thousands have weighed in on an online poll inspired by Tabula Rasa's Operation Immortality(TM). Tabula Rasa(R) is a fast-paced massively multiplayer online (MMO) game that puts you in the middle of an intergalactic fight to save humanity. The results of the polls are among the many digitized items stored on the "Immortality Drive" that will be taken to space by legendary game designer Richard Garriott, who travels to the International Space Station (ISS) on Oct. 12.
The poll results, including top 10 listings in each category, can be viewed at OperationImmortality.com. The results show a wide range of interests and opinions from the thousands of people who voted on humanity's greatest achievements during the last two months.
Also being stored on the "Immortality Drive" is in-game character information from players of Tabula Rasa, Garriott's latest sci-fi massively multiplayer game from NCsoft(R). In addition, visitors to the Operation Immortality site left personal messages to send on the digital time capsule.
And over the last few weeks, guild wars gold several celebrities have agreed to send their digitized DNA to the space station in an effort to "save humanity" in case a future catastrophe should befall Earth. Among those who will be enjoying the digital "ride" to space are Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert from The Colbert Report, famed physicist and author Stephen Hawking, music legends Joe Ely and Eric Johnson and American Gladiator Matt Morgan.
