LOCAL servicemen are being remembered in an art exhibition in Liverpool.

The Art Fund has brought Queen and Country, created by official war artist Steve McQueen, to St Georges Hall.

The work, which is commissioned by the Imperial War Museum, consists of a series of facsimile postage sheets each dedicated to a member of the armed forces who have died in Iraq.

The Art Fund is campaigning to get the coh influence stamps officially issued by the Royal Mail.

Among families supporting the campaign is that of Corporal Ben Nowak, a Royal Marine from Speke, who died in a bomb attack near Basra, aged 27.

His uncle, Michael McEvatt said:
