Wrath of the Lich King item changes: Something to keep in mind is that there was a change in item setup in The Burning Crusade to where you saw a lot more stamina on basically everything. In Wrath of the Lich King we don’t currently plan to rework an entire statistic like that, so instead the items will just get more powerful at a more consistent rate. Of course anything can still change so we’ll have to see how things turn out. (src) This is something that people have been worried about (me too) since when BC came out even the most basic of epics and “good gear” became complete crap for the most part and it made the memory of working to get it a little bitter to swallow.
We’ve been talking a little bit in various posts of mine about the prospet of having a graphics update in the coming expansion. Based on the videos and images I’ve posted as part of my big leak explosion; I think it’s safe to say that Blizzard is doing what they can without making the game completely inaccessable to people with a low budget for their computers. We have some really amazing graphics and textures going in with Wrath of the Lich King. I believe the art team is really outdoing themselves as have all of the teams developing the expansion. We are still retaining the style that makes Warcraft, well, Warcraft, but hopefully you’ll enjoy the newer elements that are being added in and the design of Northrend. (src)
It’s been a little running joke among my friends that have been (like me) followers of Blizzard titles for a long time now. Blizzard makes games that can run on a cardboard box with pencil shavings inside. Blizzard’s always been good at making their code so solid that they could indeed produce games that just about everybody has the hardware to run and enjoy. I know this question has come up before when we were releasing Burning Crusade, but we don’t have any information at present on any changes to the minimum requirements for Wrath of the Lich King . Provided there are any changes, we’ll let you know, but we do our best to maintain the availability of the game for as many people as possible.
