We know that any class can wear any armor. We also know that there is auto-stat allocation. So my question is how will armor restrictions actually work? Now, I have not played the demo so maybe this is already solved but I don't know. There are a couple of way this can be handled.
1. Armor still has a strength requirement. With the auto stat allocation, this means that the Barb (who should have the best armor) will be able to wear heavy armor first. Eventually, lighter classes will get the strength needed for this armor but at a higher level than Barb.
- The downside is that this essentially puts a level requirement on the armor and not really a strength one.
2. Each single piece of armor actually has a different amount of defense depending on what class is wearing it. So a gothic helm has 30 defense for a Barb but only 10 for a Monk.
- Having varying stats on a piece of armor can be very confusing and really makes no sense.
3. They could simple cater the attributes to more directly reflect the class that should be wearing it. For example, heavy plate mail (which would have high defense) would also have attributes like +hp, +strength, or +attack dmg. A wizard could still wear it but would loose the possible benefit of +spell damage from a different type of armor.
- Attribute randomness is part of Diablo and catering the attributes to certain types diminishes this.
Like I said, I haven't had the chance yet to play the game so maybe this is solved. If so can someone please explain to me just how the armor works differing from class to class.
How can every class wear the same armor?
