With the release of MLB The Show 26 approaching, developer San Diego Studio has officially opened preorders across all major platforms. The announcement followed the debut of the game’s first gameplay trailer, which provided fans with a clearer look at what to expect from the next installment of the long-running baseball franchise.
Alongside the trailer, the studio confirmed the available editions of the game and the bonuses players can receive for preordering. As in previous years, preorders allow players to secure additional in-game rewards while also enabling pre-downloads so the game is ready to play immediately when it launches.
Available Platforms and Preorder Process
Players can preorder MLB The Show 26 digitally through their platform’s online storefront. The game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, maintaining the same platform lineup as the previous entry in the series. Interestingly, the developers have not announced a version for the rumored Nintendo Switch 2, meaning fans hoping for a release on Nintendo’s next-generation hardware may have to wait for a future installment.
To preorder the game, players simply need to access their platform’s marketplace—such as the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or Nintendo eShop—and select their preferred edition of MLB The Show 26. Digital preorders require full payment at the time of purchase, with prices starting at $70 for PlayStation and Xbox platforms and $60 on Nintendo Switch.
For those who prefer physical copies, retailers such as Best Buy and GameStop are also offering preorders. In many cases, customers can reserve the game with a small deposit and complete the purchase closer to launch. However, physical copies are limited to the Standard Edition and require a console capable of playing discs.
Editions and Preorder Bonuses
San Diego Studio confirmed that MLB The Show 26 will launch with two main editions: the Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition. Unlike some previous releases, there will be no physical Collector’s Edition this year.
The Standard Edition includes the base game along with several Diamond Dynasty rewards, including five The Show Packs and a Gold Choice Pack as a preorder bonus.
Meanwhile, the Digital Deluxe Edition provides a significantly larger bundle of in-game items designed to give players an early advantage in Diamond Dynasty. In addition to the base game, this edition includes 20 The Show Packs, World Baseball Classic Choice Packs, a Legend Choice Pack, equipment and uniform packs, and 20,000 Stubs. Players who preorder this version will also gain up to four days of early access, beginning March 13.
Preparing for Launch
With the full release scheduled for March 17, MLB The Show 26 is rapidly approaching. Players planning to invest heavily in Diamond Dynasty may also look for additional ways to build their teams quickly. Digital marketplaces such as z2u.com offer Cheap MLB The Show 26 Stubs, which can help players acquire packs and strengthen their rosters early in the game’s lifecycle.
As the launch date draws closer, more gameplay details and feature reveals are expected, giving fans a better understanding of how this year’s entry will evolve the beloved baseball simulation series.
